A second-year student of Mechanical Production Engineering at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Yusuf Musa, was on Wednesday found dead after he was suspected stabbed to dead by unknown assailant.
Naijaloaded gathered that the student was killed as a result of a misunderstanding he had with a fellow final year student of Geology identified as Dauda.
The school’s Public Relations Officer, Zailani Bappah, confirmed the incident to Naijaloaded on Saturday, but said the management was not competent to comment on the matter already being investigated by the police.
He said the incident did not occur in either of the varsity’s camps in Bauchi.
“Yes, I am aware of the incident and he is our student. But I must tell you that this did not happen on either the Yelwa Campus nor the Gubi Campus. It didn’t happen on the school facility”, he said
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mahmood Mohammed, said the case is under investigation.
“The case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID),” he said.
“An exhibit was recovered from the scene of the incident, the stick which was used to hit the deceased. We are working hard to recover the other exhibit that was used to stab him.”
Mr. Mahmood said the police had found out that the deceased was mobbed and that investigators have intensified efforts to arrest all fleeing suspects and bring them to book disclosing that “so far one suspect has been arrested and is helping us with our investigation.

Popular rapper, Panshak Zamani, fondly known as Ice Prince, let out a bombshell during the week when he confirmed that he’s no longer signed to Chocolate City Entertainment, the label that spawned his music career. Although fans have been speculating on the status of his contract with the label for a while now, because his latest singles like ‘For Days’ and ‘Seasons’ do not bear the imprint of Choc City, it still came as a rude shock to many. The rapper was a guest on Cool FM’s Midday Oasis, where he revealed that his contract with the label expired two years ago and due to his personal relationship with the label owners, decided not to make it public. He however, made it clear that he still has some working relationship with them. This is even as he released a new single, ‘Chike’ featuring Korede Bello on Thursday.
Ice Prince, who is gearing up for the release of his third album tentatively titled, ‘Jos To The World’, now sits atop his own label, Super Cool Cats, which may soon be signing new acts.
Meanwhile, Ice Prince is the third act to depart Chocolate City in the past six months, following in the steps of Kahli Abdu & VHS Safari, and rapper M.
G-worldwide leading act, Kiss Daniel, has openly declared his affection for YBNL’s first female act, Temmie Ovwasa. The sensational singer, who recently launched his debut album with an album concert, resorted to social media to declare his love for the new YBNL nightingale. Temmie Ovwasa posted an acoustic rendition of Kiss Daniel’s latest single Mama on Instagram, which attracted Kiss Daniel’s attention. Basking in the euphoria of her musical dexterity and possibly physical beauty, a love-struck Kiss Daniel wrote: “I love her so much mehn! Perhaps my first industry crush.” Who knows, maybe something good will come out of this. Our fingers are crossed and we’re watching.
Few weeks ago, Olamide’s protégé, Lil Kesh, took a bow out of YBNL record label, to float his own label, YAGI, which is also the title of his newly released album. Shortly after, Olamide signed his first ever female act, Temmie Ovwasa, who has been making buzz on the airwaves with her first single Jabole.
However, after Lil Kesh’s exit, rumor making the rounds is that Orente singer, Adekunle Gold is next in line, as his record deal with YBNL expires anytime soon. Recall that he signed a two-year record deal with the Olamide-led record label, YBNL, just like Lil Kesh, Temmie and Viktoh. So, he may leave to float his own record label rumoured to be called ‘Gold Records’. Though Adekunle Gold or his management have not made any official statement as to the authenticity of the rumour, but sources close to YBNL’s camp, claim there are speculations that the rumour will find reality as soon as Adekunle Gold drops his debut album sometime in June 2016.
