N322.4m to link a cable to the drivers’ restroom and other outrageous allocations in the 2016 budget

The Presidency budgeted N322.4 million to link
a cable to the drivers’ restroom in Aso Rock, a
review of the controversial 2016 budget by
Premium Times has revealed.
The online newspaper’s analysis has revealed
that the budget, already a source of
controversy, is replete with outrageous
proposals, repetitions and frivolous
allocations.
Last Saturday, apparently embarrassed by the
frivolity of the budget, an unnamed source
within the presidency told journalists that the
budget was padded by top civil servants who
he described as a ‘budget mafia’.
During yesterday’s defence of the budget of
his ministry, the Minister for Health Isaac
Adewole told the Senate that he was unaware
of some of the allocations in the budget.
Below are some of the outrageous proposals in
the budget:
The office of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
was allocated more money for books than the
total of allocation for books for federal
polytechnics, 11 out of the which did not get
any allocation at all. While N4,906,822 was
proposed to be spent on books by Mr Osinbajo,
a total of N3,832,038 was proposed for the
polytechnics.
The State House Clinic allocated N3.2 billion
for equipment and is planning to build a VIP
wing at the clinic for N308 million.
N213,873,953 was proposed for the linking of a
cable from Guest House No 9 generator house
to the gate. Also, the presidency allocated
N618,604,265 for the installation of electrical
lighting and fittings at the villa, which equate
to spending N1.6 million daily installing
lighting and fittings and another N371,733,964
for the installation of electrical distribution
boards and other cables.
Buhari also proposed to renovate Aso Rock
Guest House for N387,980,200. N45 million was
earmarked for furniture.
Furthermore, a whopping N3.91 billion was
earmarked for the annual routine maintenance
of villa facilities. A breakdown of this amount
shows that the government plans to spend
N10.72 million daily on routine maintenance.
The President also proposed to spend
N22,321,880 to pay rent at the State House. It is
unclear whom the presidency is paying the
rent to.

5 ways a break up could help P-Square, Jude Okoye

The recent issue between Peter, Paul and Jude Okoye
will look like a PR stunt if they eventually make up,
which is already very likely with Peter’s recent post
on Instagram wherein he made an obvious statement
about apology. But beyond that, an actual break up
will be good for all parties involved and there are a
number of points that prove this.
Peter Okoye of P-Square makes thinly-veiled
apology on Instagram following earlier
rants on Twitter in which he went against
brother Jude Okoye.
Looking at the current situation, if the
Okoye brothers are indeed ‘PR stunting’,
then the benefits are numerous.
For starters, they will remain in the
headlines for some time as a result, and
anything they get involved in will enjoy
prime time in the media.
This is always the case when celebrities
clash.
Fans and critics take sides, critique and
then observe happenings in the weeks and
months leading up to any major album
release or anything else the celebrities are
handling.

"!Dele and Nanchin were in a four year

MAN MARRIES HIS MOTHER

In a sleepy village known as Slovo Park near Siyabuswa,
South Africa, villagers were torn with joy and surprise as they witnessed a rather strange wedding where a mother and son exchanged wedding vows.

The son, a traditional healer from Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga, said he married his biological mother in awedding ceremony to appease hisancestors. He now calls his mother “my wife”.
On Sunday more than 2000 people turned up to witness the wedding of Buti Mphethi, 28, to his mother Francinah Makunyane, 62.
But it wasn’t the kind of marriage where a man takes a wife to love and have children.
Buti Mhethi married his mother so that she could be accepted into the Mphethi family.
“The ancestors will reward Buti for what he has done today,” said his 62-year-old mother, Francinah, whose family name used to be Makunyane.
Now she is a proud member of the Mphethi family.

But it wasn’t an easy decision for ButiMphethi who dropped out of his second year studies in sound engineering at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2003 to become a sangoma. He felt it was a calling from his ancestors.
When the ancestors first told him to marry his own mother he flatly refused, and that’s when his troubles began.
The problem was that his father never paid lobola (Bride price) for his mother and so she was never married and fully accepted into the family.
Buti said: “My ancestors came to me in a dream while I was a student at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2003.
“I heeded the call to become a sangoma. But when they came up with the idea that I should marry my own mother, I flatly refused.”
Buti then took his own wife. But in the four years of their marriage, she could not give him a child.
He also could not sleep peacefully as bad dreams kept him awake every night.
Then, without any explanation, his wife left him. His younger brother’s marriage also didn’t work out and his wife left him as well.
That was when the two brothers realized that they had to heed the ancestors’ instructions or they would never be happy.
So on Saturday, Buti tied the knot with his mother.
He gave his “in-laws” two cows, and spent R14 000 on the wedding alone.
“I’m glad that I have finally appeased my ancestors and ensured that my mother is formally accepted in the family. She is now an Mphethi, as she should have been long ago,” he said.
Buti’s parents separated 15 years ago. His father, William Mphethi, currently has four wives.
Buti’s mum Francinah said she was very happy because she never believed that she would ever get married and be an Mphethi.
“I am old and getting married was something that I forgot about a long time ago,” she said.
“But the ancestors will reward Buti for what he has done today.”
