Tension In ATBU As Police Probe Killing Of Student
Cot-cee: Naijaloaded
A second-year student of Mechanical Production Engineering at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Yusuf Musa, was on Wednesday found dead after he was suspected stabbed to dead by unknown assailant.
Naijaloaded gathered that the student was killed as a result of a misunderstanding he had with a fellow final year student of Geology identified as Dauda.
The school’s Public Relations Officer, Zailani Bappah, confirmed the incident to Naijaloaded on Saturday, but said the management was not competent to comment on the matter already being investigated by the police.
He said the incident did not occur in either of the varsity’s camps in Bauchi.
“Yes, I am aware of the incident and he is our student. But I must tell you that this did not happen on either the Yelwa Campus nor the Gubi Campus. It didn’t happen on the school facility”, he said
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mahmood Mohammed, said the case is under investigation.
“The case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID),” he said.
“An exhibit was recovered from the scene of the incident, the stick which was used to hit the deceased. We are working hard to recover the other exhibit that was used to stab him.”
Mr. Mahmood said the police had found out that the deceased was mobbed and that investigators have intensified efforts to arrest all fleeing suspects and bring them to book disclosing that “so far one suspect has been arrested and is helping us with our investigation.
The deceased, a direct entry student, was supposed to write his last paper for his first semester exams when he was found dead

5 most underated rappers in beehive
Many people say today’s BEEHIVE hip-hop is garbage, and over-saturated with crappy music that all says the same thing. Well, those people don’t pay much attention to what’s really going on in hip-hop. If you ask me, hip-hop is at the best it’s been in years.Aside from the cats who get their face plastered all over the biggest sites and publications, there are so many talented guys who get overlooked or just don’t get the respect they deserve. Today we shine a spotlight on five underrated rappers who deserve to be held in higher regard.
DR X
DX may be the oldest out of everyone on this list, but he’s also one of the most talented. He’s been putting music out since the 2007, but came back as DR X at the end, Set to drop a new album 2016 titled BLACK ALBUM. While he may not be at the top of his game anymore.
In a time where genre-challenging is all the rage, he keeps it classic as one of the most consistent rappers lyrically, even though that may not grab headlines in today’s hip-hop world ,Even so, he’s inarguably a special talent with a long track record of quality.
IB
Admittedly, it’s probably hard to standout in flow tymers . Between krisskill and embeat cult fanbases and, oh yeah, that guy named ib who’s pretty good, IB has struggled to really standout and get the attention he deserves for the music he’s putting out.
VIPER
He’s a very pure hip-hop artist in the sense that he mixes intricate rhymes with boom-bap, head-bobbing beats, but at the same time lets his originality and confidence shine through
SHAMBEE PUZZLE
PUZZLE ability as a rapper is apparent; he has masterful rhyme schemes and clever wordplay that combine with his impeccable ear for production for a killer end product. He’s yet to be a widely-known artist, but the sheer all-around potency of his music portend an extremely bright future for him, and I honestly would not be surprised if he drops a classic hip-hop album before it’s all said and done
ABSTRAQ
STRAQ gained much respect with the release of his single HAUKANKA and MAMA TA MOTA, though he’s still overlooked as one a top-tier artist today. His beat selection is marvelous, and fits his style terrifically. It’s got that gritty, ear-rattling sound mixed with west coast flavors, all adding up for the ideal sound to complement straq raw style and lyricism.
, though he’s yet to really push through to the next plateau and gain the high level of national notoriety you would expect him to
Regardless, he’s a young and consistent artist, and it shouldn’t be long before he’s a nation-wide commodity.

My contract with Chocolate City expired two years ago – Ice Prince
Popular rapper, Panshak Zamani, fondly known as Ice Prince, let out a bombshell during the week when he confirmed that he’s no longer signed to Chocolate City Entertainment, the label that spawned his music career. Although fans have been speculating on the status of his contract with the label for a while now, because his latest singles like ‘For Days’ and ‘Seasons’ do not bear the imprint of Choc City, it still came as a rude shock to many. The rapper was a guest on Cool FM’s Midday Oasis, where he revealed that his contract with the label expired two years ago and due to his personal relationship with the label owners, decided not to make it public. He however, made it clear that he still has some working relationship with them. This is even as he released a new single, ‘Chike’ featuring Korede Bello on Thursday.
Ice Prince, who is gearing up for the release of his third album tentatively titled, ‘Jos To The World’, now sits atop his own label, Super Cool Cats, which may soon be signing new acts.
Meanwhile, Ice Prince is the third act to depart Chocolate City in the past six months, following in the steps of Kahli Abdu & VHS Safari, and rapper M.
Kiss Daniel in love with YBNL first lady, Temmie Ovwasa
G-worldwide leading act, Kiss Daniel, has openly declared his affection for YBNL’s first female act, Temmie Ovwasa. The sensational singer, who recently launched his debut album with an album concert, resorted to social media to declare his love for the new YBNL nightingale. Temmie Ovwasa posted an acoustic rendition of Kiss Daniel’s latest single Mama on Instagram, which attracted Kiss Daniel’s attention. Basking in the euphoria of her musical dexterity and possibly physical beauty, a love-struck Kiss Daniel wrote: “I love her so much mehn! Perhaps my first industry crush.” Who knows, maybe something good will come out of this. Our fingers are crossed and we’re watching.
Adekunle Gold Set To Quit YBNL
Few weeks ago, Olamide’s protégé, Lil Kesh, took a bow out of YBNL record label, to float his own label, YAGI, which is also the title of his newly released album. Shortly after, Olamide signed his first ever female act, Temmie Ovwasa, who has been making buzz on the airwaves with her first single Jabole.
However, after Lil Kesh’s exit, rumor making the rounds is that Orente singer, Adekunle Gold is next in line, as his record deal with YBNL expires anytime soon. Recall that he signed a two-year record deal with the Olamide-led record label, YBNL, just like Lil Kesh, Temmie and Viktoh. So, he may leave to float his own record label rumoured to be called ‘Gold Records’. Though Adekunle Gold or his management have not made any official statement as to the authenticity of the rumour, but sources close to YBNL’s camp, claim there are speculations that the rumour will find reality as soon as Adekunle Gold drops his debut album sometime in June 2016.

Petrol price increment shows Buhari’s APC govt insensitive to Nigerians’ plight – Fayose
Ado - Ekiti - Ekiti State Governor, Mr
Ayodele Fayose has described the
increment of the unit price of premium
motor spirit (PMS) otherwise known as
petrol from N86.50 to N145, as insensitive
and demonstration of the level of hatred
the President Mohammadu Buhari led All
Progressives Congress (APC) government
had for Nigerians.
The governor, who said the over 70 per
cent increment was another vindication of
his predictions on what to expect in 2016,
added that it was now clear that the
scarcity of petrol being experienced in the
last three months was deliberately
orchestrated by the federal government
to pave way for the already conceived
increment.
According to his Special Assistant on
Public Communications and New Media, Lere
Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “Nigerians
are now left
at the mercy of political liars who took
over power by deception and are governing
by deceit.
He said he was waiting for the reaction of
those who took to the streets to protest
when fuel subsidy was removed by the Dr
Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2012,
urging labour unions in the country to
stand by their members always, not minding
the political
party in government.
He said; “When they were seeking for votes
from Nigerians, they promised to reduce
petrol pump price to from N87 to N45 per
litre, they promised to create three
million jobs per year, they said $1 will be
equal to N1 and above all, they promised
to pay unemployed youths N5, 000 stipend
and provide one meal a day to pupils
nationwide.
“Instead of fulfilling their promises, they
have increased petrol pump price to N145
per litre, increased electricity tariffs,
retrenched thousands of workers and
imposed untold hardships on Nigerians.
“As they did in 2012, if labour leaders do
not also stand up for the people at this
time, posterity will not forgive them. ”
